The Home Page of Murray K. Felstead.

Welcome to my home page.
My main hobbies are amateur radio, computers and cycling.

Amateur radio is a world wide hobby, where persons study various radio related topics and then sit exams set by their relevant communication authority. Following success at these exams, the applicant can then obtain an amateur radio callsign, which then allows that person to use various modes of radio communication, on a whole range of frequencies, as set by international agreement. Amateur radio operators are also some times referred to as "hams". I am also a member of the Ballarat Amateur Radio Group, Inc.  We have our own home page, which can be accessed by either clicking the above highlighted club name, or our logo.

Listed below are a large number of other amateur radio links, that I have downloaded from the Internet. I hope you find them useful.

I am also interested in computers. I recently built myself a 586 computer, which I found to be a most rewarding exercise, as I found it an excellent way of learning about how computers work. If you are interested in building one yourself, then I would suggest that you read some books on the subject, or seek out information on the net.

On the Internet, the best way to obtain information on any subject you wish is by the use of "search engines", which are computers whose job it is to search the net periodically, noting current files on the servers, and update its database. When you then access the search engine, you can find information on whatever topic you wish. Listed below are a few search engines I use. The best way to find a search engine is to go to Search Engines Worldwide.

FTP sites.

If you would like to search for a certain program, then you need to search for FTP (file transfer protocol) sites.  A good site for this is http://www.ftpsearchengines.com/

Others to try are :-

FTP Directory: ftp://ftp.monash.edu.au/

The Ultimate Collection of Winsock Software

shareware.com -- the way to find shareware on the Internet

I am also interested in bicycle touring. I have done several bike rides run by Bicycle Victoria, and you may like to check out their new up-coming rides. If you like cycling and camping, then you will enjoy these rides.

Well I hope you find these sites useful to you. If you would like to email me, I would welcome your comments.

Regards,

Murray Felstead.

If you wish to send me a secure, private message, below is my PGP public key. Using this program, and my public key below, with your own secret key, you can send me one, that no-one, except myself, would be able to decode.

The International PGP Home Page can give you lots of useful links to download the program and information as to how to run it.
If you would like to send me a PGP message, then you will need my PGP public key.
